What is LiteraTour in Library 2.0?
This is a Grundtvig project within the EU "Programme for Lifelong Learning". European literature will be shared and discussed in "Literary Language Cafés" - discussion groups in the physical library and in the internet based virtual world Second Life.

Who are participating in the project?
Adult learners and staff in language schools, libraries, a literature organisation and a museum in Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Spain and Greece.

Project period: Oct 2007 - Sept 2009.

It's about sharing…
- literature as a means for intercultural understanding

It's about bridging the gap…
- between cultures and languages
- between literature and emerging technologies
- between young and old
- between libraries and schools
- between the physical and the virtual library

It's about the library…
- as an arena for conversation
- in both the physical space and in cyberspace.

It's LiteraTour in Library 2.0!
In this Grundtvig project European literature will be shared and discussed in "Literary Language Cafés" - physical and virtual discussion groups:

- in the physical library
- in the virtual world Second Life (www.secondlife.com).

We want to make a journey – a "LiteraTour" - through the bookshelves of the adult learners. Themes will focus on identity, territory and memory.

The aims of these activities are:
- to facilitate and promote a creative discourse on European linguistic and cultural identities
- improve ICT skills
- promote the physical and virtual library as a joint platform for Lifelong learning
- offer an attractive learning space for blended language learning.
